2011-12 Fall-Winter CSA
Following our CSA introduced this summer, we are pleased to offer a similar arrangement for the coming Fall and Winter months. By prepaying for a share of our farm’s produce, you will receive a box of vegetables approximately every other week. The produce that will be distributed will consist of a wide variety of storage crops grown and harvested during the summer and fall and kept by us under the range of conditions that each requires to extend the period over which it is of good eating quality. Additionally, the shares will include crops that are able to cope with freezing temperatures, plus some items grown during the winter months in our unheated greenhouse. We will also augment what we have available with a few items grown by our friends at Willoughby Farm, located a short distance from us in Pittsfield (also Certified Organic.)
Due to the nature of a Fall-Winter CSA, the number of shares we can offer will be limited to the quantity of produce we are able to harvest and store. Priority will be given to preexisting customers.

Questions & Answers
Question: How much produce will I receive?
Answer: Our shares are sized to give a good value for your dollar. We feel the amount of produce you receive will be sufficient to feed an average household, although differences in diets could modify this. We anticipate shares containing approximately 25 to 30 pounds of produce.
Question: What if I cannot make it to a Pick Up?
Answer: We understand that there may be an occasion, such as a week of vacation with the family, where you may not be able to pick up your share. Tell us with plenty of advance notice, and we will allow one week’s share to be picked up on a different week, giving you a double share that pick up day. Given the nature of the storage crops that will predominate, arrangements to pick up your share at the farm may also be possible.
Question: I am not an existing customer of yours. How will I know if you have a share available for me?
Answer: After giving our existing customers priority, we will sell remaining shares to applicants in the order in which they are received. We will return any payments received in excess of the number of shares we are able to offer this year no later than Oct 2.
